[iTarot] Card of the day Jan. 7th, 2009

II Inner voice

If you have found your truth within yourself there is nothing more in this whole existence to find. Truth is functioning through you. When you open your eyes, it is truth opening his eyes. When you close your eyes, it is truth who is closing its eyes.

This is a tremendous meditation. If you can simply understand the device, you don't have to do anything; whatever. You are walking, it is truth; you are sleeping, it is truth resting; you are speaking, it is truth speaking; you are silent, it is truth that is silent.

This is one of the most simple meditation techniques. Slowly, slowly everything settles by this simple formula, and then there is no need for the technique.

When you are cured, you throw away the meditation, you throw away the medicine. Then you live as truth - alive, radiant, contented, blissful, a song unto yourself. Your whole life becomes a prayer without any words, or better to say a prayerfulness, a grace, a beauty which does not belong to our mundane world, a ray of light coming from the beyond into the darkness or our world.
Today I am grateful for the seeds that I feel waking up. I planted cup and saucer vine in a big pot in my sunny window to get me through the long cold winter.
Wow Ross, Karma came back to bite you on the ass in a big way huh? Next year, don't open your presents early!

In your place, finding out that you'd been given the same things you'd bought and used to make things for your sister's gifts, I'd have been most pleased that we were both on the same wavelength enough for it to happen. Freaking out and trashing her presents because of what she got you seems like your detracting from what would have been an awesome surprise (for everyone else, not for you having opened them already).

As it is, I'd keep both sets of stamps and be happy that you have a spare set. Having used rubber stamps often enough in the past I know that they tend to have a very finite lifespan... a backup set will keep you going twice as long!
Yep, I did the same with several books and a Tarot deck. Sooner or later the right person comes along and I just pass it along. I have also done similar things with crystals.
I know exactly where you are coming from as I have been in the same situation, only for me it was a book. I simply kept them both as I tend to 'read them to death', which meant I had a spare.

The other thing you might think about doing, is giving the one you bought to someone who seems to be in need of a little 'butterfly' love. Maybe sometime in the future. You will know when the time is right.
Of course it will always be forever changed.

Thanks for the feedback guys,

It’s been playing on my mind since christmas eve and at the time I was running on instinct and not logic! I know it was wrong to deceive her and I have felt so guilty about it, but I figured it was one of those situations where it was better to tell a white lie rather than cause upset!

I find myself being reminded of a short story I read in college, I forget the title but the basic story is about a poor young couple who are so in love and get each other “the perfect gift” for christmas (or some other occasion) despite being very poor and the man is away at war or working in another city (either way he’s away and has been for a long time) and she is at home struggling to pay the rent and sees an ad from a wig company who buy hair to use to make their wigs and she has the most beautiful long hair that is her pride and joy, and she decides to sell it all leaving her with very short hair all so she can buy her husband a beautiful gold chain for his fob watch which was a family heirloom and is his pride and joy! She is so upset at losing her hair but knows that he is worth it and decides to happily wear a headscarf until it grows back.

When he arrives home he gives her the gift he bought her which is a beautiful set of expensive hair combs to hold up her long locks in style. As she is opening her gift she has him open his as well and they both look at each other heartbroken as they have to explain that she cut her hair to get the money for his gift and that he has sold his watch to get the money to buy hers!

I was in tears reading this story, I felt so bad for both of them! And it was a situation like this I was trying to avoid, I felt that I could bear the pain of the upset on my own so as to save a second heart being broken!

And you are so right Taz, "kindness is a strength, overkindness is a weakness” and at any other time I probably would have just let it slide, but she was working so hard to give me a “perfect christmas” because she knew how much it meant to me when Mum was still around and the fact that I haven’t had a good one since made her even more determined to make it perfect and I just couldn’t bear being the one to upset her after all her hard work!

I’m so glad you all understand, I thought I was mad when the friends I discussed it with didn’t understand why I felt bad about returning a set!

I definitely can’t return the set I bought as I already used them, and had to trim the surrounding rubber down with a craft knife because they were leaving marks where they weren’t supposed to! And it took me hours to trim them enough to work perfectly!

I like your idea of giving my set to someone and keeping hers but none of my friends are crafters and the only person I know who would have also appreciated them as much as I do is rather ironically my sister!

The set wasn’t particularly expensive either (only £5 about $10ish) so its not as if I’m going to gain financially from returning one, I suppose I can think some more on it, but I do only have about another few days before the return period expires and I’m stuck with them regardless!

I think you are right Serendipity, the wrong decision (whichever it may be) would definitely haunt me!

I did consider the option of just keeping them as a spare set as I do love them and would be very upset if I ever lost one or they were damaged!

Oh I’m just too darn nice for my own good sometimes! If I do decide to keep them I’ll clearly mark the set I bought in some way so that I can tell them apart and if I ever find someone who would appreciate them I can be sure to keep the right set!

I’m so going to change my mind a million times before the night is through!
I've always enjoyed going to PUF...... not sure I'm going this year, but probably will. I love to tent camp there because I can set up far away from others or get right in the middle of it all, depending on my mood.

The workshops and classes are always top notch and since the vendors are limited to just one selling a particular item, it's got great variety.
Ross, I realized late last night that I did not answer the question of what to do with the two sets of stamps , as you had requested, instead I put on my big sister hat and told you what I thought of the whole situation, for this I apologize.
Wow Dave--- I've been using shea butter products for about 10 years now and used to get it at a place in Kansas City that imported it straight from Africa, thinking that I was doing something good for the native peoples. Little did I know that I was actually causing more harm!

No more shea products for me! And thank you for the heads up.
if you are going to feel bad, then keep it. Its easy to form an attachment to something that someone special got for you, and feeling 'guilty or bad' if you return it, its never good to feel bad, do what feel right to you deep inside.
